Boudoir Blogs To Follow
As a photographer shooting boudoir, there’s a couple of blogs I follow that are truly inspiring in more ways than just showing off their work. A lot of blogs out there are primarily used to showcase current work, or special projects that photographer has worked on that they loved doing and created.
Some others, choose to defy expectations and go further.
The following blogs are some I’ve found over the years of my career (as well as more recently!) that are by photographers who inspire me and the business woman I want to become. A lot of the inspiration I’ve had for my photography has come from American and Canadian boudoir photographers. I’ll try to include a good mix of the ones that do great blog posts and those that are more gallery focused.
The First One
Incredible Ms Tigz Rice
Tigz is a primarily burlesque and pin up style photographer in the UK. She’s been a motivator for me not only for the way she pushes traditional boundaries, but how she seeks to educate those around her. Whether that be her clients or other photographers.
"My photography career started in 2009, in the dazzling, extraordinary world of burlesque photography. I fell in love with the copious amounts of glitter and the unwavering support these incredible performers have for each other. A community where bodies of all shapes, genders, sizes and ethnicities are celebrated. Becoming a member of the burlesque community showed me that beauty thrives in confidence. Upon this realisation, my life goal became clear: to help fearless humans feel empowered, confident and unapologetically present in both their personal and professional adventures – documenting their journey with beautiful visual stories."

*Credit to her words on her website. I hope this shows her personality that I fell in love with as a fledgling photographer.

My Second
Jade Thorby
Jade is a New Zealand photographer, based in Hamilton. I actually got put on to her by a friend, and loved Jade’s raw and honest work. Much like myself, she had her fair share of problems with self esteem and confidence. Which eventually brought her to boudoir.
Jade Thorby’s focus is on discovering and capturing the essence of who you are and drawing out your inner beauty. Our boudoir photography style is elegant, tasteful and sensual and we work with you to determine the look and feel of your shoot.

My number 3
Tami Keehn
Tami shows through her work and blog how much she values mindset and education. Not only is she an amazing boudoir photographer, but she is a certified life coach. Her blog posts are a mix of boudoir, life lessons and tips for future selves. Tami also shows a portion of her blog posts through a page called “Boldher”. Meant to show women strength in their own selves and who they can become.
Perfectionism, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and crippling fear are all roadblocks for greater success. I know because I’ve been there. Seeing other women achieve great things while you feel stuck is such an isolating feeling.
Tami Keehn
Personally I love the fact that she obviously for genuine reasons. Tami and I have similar mindsets that people are already empowered. It just takes unlocking it and finding our inner confidence again.
My sexy Fourth
Lezandra
Now this woman is truly something special. Military child come military wife, she’s been photographing boudoir for almost 15 years and working towards being a sex coach. Lezandra is a no bullshit person who pushes social norms and helps create environments where people can truly be themselves without fear.
MY LIFE MOTTO?
"FUCK WHAT THEY THINK."
I want your session to be a true representation of your inner sensual identity. The beauty, the vulnerability, the confidence, the strength, whether you see it or not, I will pull it out and show you.
Lezandra
Her blog is a great mix of all things boudoir, personal feelings and developments, sex education and galleries. You will spend hours on her site!
Fifth Blog I recommend
Melissa Brielle Boudoir
Now, there’s one final blog you should definitely subscribe to…. mine!
I’m a Christchurch based New Zealand boudoir photographer who not only aims to educate her clients, but provide a supportive and encouraging environment. I’ve had my own personal struggles with mental health and body dysmorphia, so I know a little of what you may be going through when trying boudoir out for the first time. Whether you’re nervous or confident, we all have areas and parts of ourselves we aren’t so comfortable with.
It’s my job to show you exactly how wrong your thinking is x
All bodies are incredible. They not only carry us through life, but every scar or wrinkle is a part of our life’s journey and personal story.
